Description

This Easy Print Piggy Bank is remixed from boniilloo's original as I needed the coin slot to be slightly wider to accomodate Australia's 50c piece, which measures around 32mm at its widest. This likely could have been accomplished by simply scaling the model up, but I wanted to keep it fairly small and compact. If your country has even wider coins and you'd like a version with an even wider slot, let me know!

Since I was adjusting the coin slot, I also took the time to fix the orientation of the "right side" of the pig so it is flat on the print surface. The original Thing has it upsidedown and needing rotation before printing. Tiny quality of life change!

Note you can probably fit both sides of the pig on your print surface, but they're left separate for convenience.

This piggy bank could easily be printed in two or more colours, either matching the side pieces to each other or making a tri-colour pig. If anyone prints it in other colours I would love to see them!

Notes:

To print you will need one of each piece.

My sample print was done with very sparse supports for the central section, to ensure the coin slot would print smoothly. You might be able to print it without supports, but the gap is around 33mm across. I used 5% density zig-zag support in Cura and they were easily snapped out with a bit of encouragement from my thumbnail.

The side sections snap into place with some encouragement, though a bit of sanding or file work may help matters. If they're loose, a dab of glue should hold it in place. If you break the side when taking it off, just print another! :)
