Description
It's a magnetic build sheet Name Tag that, depending on the event, may be admired
You know those times when you realize the magnetic fridge magnet you made would be a good name tag if it was a little wider? Me either. Until today.
Printing: 0.25 nozzle nice, 0.4 is fine. No supports, Infill 15 is fine. Just prints…
There are two types. One with holes in the bottom you can glue magnets in when the print is over. One where you can pause the print at the top of the magnet hole, drop in the magnet, then resume the print.
You can print it all in one colour but it's super easy to change colours so the text and build area stand out.
BONUS FUN: - Drag the letters for your name into the slicer and scale/position them on top of the build sheet before printing. Search Printables for ‘alphabet’ to find some to your liking. Hint for PrusaSlicer - use the Add Part command.
Instructions:
1. Choose a Magnetic Build Sheet Name Tag for the magnet type you want and open it in your slicer.
2. Optional step for drop-in-magnet version: Preview the file and slide through the layers until you get to the last layer for the hole before it closes in. In Prusaslicer you can right click the little plus sign and choose ‘add pause print’
3. Preview the file and slide through the layers until you get to the first layer of the text and choose a color change in your slicer. In Prusaslicer your can just click the little plus sign to the right.
3. Print the Magnetic Build Sheet Name Tag and your printer will pause when it is time to drop in a magnet or change colour. Then choose the resume option on your printer.
4. Write your name, or a fake entertaining name, on your Magnetic Build Sheet Name Tag with a Sharpie, paint pen, or yellow mustard in a pinch. If using mustard, be careful as it may stain your clothing and it is best to let it dry before wearing. I hope to see some mustard makes.
5. Attach the Magnetic Build Sheet Name Tag to your clothing by placing some magnets on the other side of the fabric, leather, or rubber, or any other material your are wearing. Present your Magnetic Build Sheet Name Tag to your partner and be glad you don't have to explain what it is again. ( see Fridge magnet version ) Explain that it is for a different contest and be please that it was understood even if not really appreciated. Keep your Name Tag handy for the next event where you want to have a cooler Name Tag than everyone else.
Hope you like it! :)
