Description
This is a display model of Caenorhabditis elegans Maupas 1900, one of the most frequently studied species in genetics, transcriptomics, and even behaviorial biology . This nematode is related to other ecdysozoans (molting animals) such as tardigrades, kinorhynchs and arthropods. I modelled a hermaphrodite individual, without the male tail fin.
The model is best printed lying down, with some supports being needed for printing. It is designed to be mounted on a 13mm (⌀ 4.6 mm) nail. The model of the stand is also included.
