this filament holder was designed to make changing filament spools quick and easy. it can accommodate any width of spool and can be changed quickly and easily. there are four parts that need to be printed, (1) x 2 filament rail frames, be sure to mirror one in your slicer so there is a right and a left, (2) x 4 bearing holder spools, (3) x 8 split bearing spacers, (4) bearing ring 22x3mm x 4.

In addition you will need 4 x 5mm x 22mm screws (they can be longer) get them at lowes or home depot

Be sure to use the layer editing to make the spools really detailed so the come out smooth.

supports are needed on the frames and the spools and the bearing spacers.

Very Important

If you dont do layer editing and get these parts to .07 layer height, the bearing spacers will not fit into the bearings.

this is the single bearing design change, makes the spools roll much smoother.

Make the bearings spin easier

In this video i go over how to make the bearings spin easier and smoother for less resistance, so the filament spool turns easier with less pressure on the extruder.
