Krause household ladder safety hook (Trittleiter Sicherung)

My household ladder accidentally opens when moving it around. So I thought of a design for a hook to prevent this.

This clip is originally designed to fit a “Kraus Klapptritt Toppy XL” I purchased at the German hardware store Bauhaus, see link below.The bigger pipe has a diameter of 28mm. The smaller pipe is 25mm. See the attached drawing for more dimensions.
