Really simple (minimalistic design) models of personal tag supporting multicolor and imprinted objects. Attached models are prepared to imprint safety pin or magnets (two small magnets required).
Before printing there is required to do small work in PrusaSlicer:
- enable multicolor on single nozzle printer (in my case Prusa Mini) - in the Printer Settings page, general section set number of extruders. Enter a number corresponding to each color you want to use. Then check “Single Extruder Multi Material” choice.
- Multimaterial painting tool appears in toolbar of Plater window - use this tool and select “Smart fill” tool type. Now comes time for shallow lines on the model - these lines are not visible on the printed object but are visible for slicer. Fill the places to be colored my right click.
- Press “Slice now” and slicer prepare G-Code including “Color change (M600)” commands. You can check it in the slicer G-Code preview (select first layer then move “scrollbar” bottom to see how the object will be printed)
- To imprint objects (safety pin in this example) you have to find appropriate layer where the object can be placed into print. To avoid contact the imprinted object and nozzle it should be top-most layer where the prepared hole is visible. Then click by right mouse button on the right side “scrollbar” and select “Add pause print (M601)” command. You can named the pause in dialog box.
(When you will print model with imprinted magnets you must choose 2 layers - magnets are in different height and finally are not visible).
Now you can print the tag as usual. During the printing you will will be asked to change the filament or place the safety pin into printed model.
Thats all, happy printing :)
To modify model for your requirements don't hesitate to copy original model prepared in TinkerCad here https://www.tinkercad.com/things/c5JPt34GXjx
PS: Before you write the name to the tag I recommend to repaint them by transparent lacquer. Printed surface contains miniature stripes and written text may blur.
