Description
This is an add-on to an Einhell Akku Rasentrimmer GC-CT 18.
The problem -- seen with most inexpensive lawn-trimmers these days -- is, you cannot glide them over the lawn, as they have no flat bottom surface. There is usually a guard extending downwards to protect you from material hitting your legs, and the lower edge of that guard is the lowest point of the device. It interferes with the grass and hinders any dragging alone.
So the user must hold the device a constant distance from the grass, to get nice results.
Going to deep even momentarily adds excessive wear to the blade. So users might think, its their lack of dexterity when they wear down blades faster than expected. It isn't.
This glider-body is a bottom plate that clips on the edge of the guard, and is supported by a glider-strut that connects with the beam and makes the assembly more rigid. (The guard is not designed to carry the weight of the device -- it flexes when loaded)
As an add on, there is an extension for the beam. You may want to print that too and insert into the lower part of the beam, if you are taller than 1.90 m.

Notes:
Â
For outdoor use, I strongly recommend PETG over PLA. the latter becomes brittle over time.
Use 3 or 4 perimeters and 60% infill. My first prototype had 2 perimeters and 20% infill, but after one year of use, small pieces were chipped off. Probably due to hard collisions with stones.
