Description
Show your Mitutoyo 182-1XX steel rule some love! Give it nice jacket to protect it from scratches and keep its sharp corners from scratching other stuff or tearing your laptop bag. While designed specifically for the Mitu 182-105 this should fit any 6" x ¾" x 3/64" steel rule.
This jacket/bumper/whatever-you-want-to-call-it is designed with semi-flex TPU in mind. The top of the sides wraps over the rule to hold it in place. The wrap-around is limited to 45° so no supports are needed. The upper and lower scales are visible with the jacket snapped on so you can still use the rule for making ballpark measurements.
I designed this with Ninjatek Cheetah (95A TPU) in mind and that's all I've printed it in. I have no idea if the design will work in more rigid materials like PETG or PLA.
On a MK3S I ran 3 perimeters, 15% infill, 0.4mm nozzle and 0.20mm layer height.
Note: I've printed this using two different spools of Cheetah. One came out a little tighter than the other. So I guess some fine tuning to individual spools might be necessary to get a “perfect” fit.
