3 AAA to 14500 conversion

Many small flashlights that take 3 AAA batteries in a cylindrical battery holder can be adapted to operate off of one 14500 lion battery. This may be desirable if the battery holder breaks, is damaged by a leaking battery, or you just want to have fewer batteries to recharge and track.

This sleeve has the outer dimensions consistant with many OEM 3 AAA battery holders. To use it, insert the sleeve in the flashlight instead of the OEM battery holder and insert a 14500 in the sleeve. The flashlight should function normally.

Situations where this substitution will not work are those which do not have a holder with the + contact at one end and the - contact at the other (yes, such oddballs do exist).

Length and width were deliberately undersized to accommodate variations among potential applications. The outside of the sleeve can be wrapped with a layer of painters tape to build it up for the desired fit on the particular application.

I prefer use of one 14500 rather than three AAA rechargables (or single use).
