Description

Was going for a “double dipped” pot look.

The pot body consists of 3 different parts you can print with different colors/materials and assemble them; and an optional base to hold the pot straight up, though the pot looks nice just resting on its side too.

Note that the pot doesn't have any drainage. This is on purpose, as it is intended to have an inner pot. It is designed to hold a standard 4-inch plastic pot inside, like this one on Amazon. Or you can print your own inside pot, I've seen some models for those! just make sure to resize it if needed to fit on the inside of this pot (the inside has a diameter of 102mm and a height of 88mm).

Printing

Print the bottom part of the pot (the yellow part in the picture) and the top part (blue) upside down. You might want to use supports for the bottom and mid (yellow and white). I figured that filling the inside of the bottom with supports was too much and would be hard to remove, so I just painted a bit of support on center.

Assembly

The pot sections are designed to fit together. With my printer and my settings on a 0.6mm nozzle, the pot sections snap fitted together, which was unexpected, but a happy accident. However, you might have to use glue to keep them together.

Once you've assembled the pot, just place it on top of the base and put your plant inside. Or skip the base… the pot also looks nice resting on its side at an angle.

Happy printing!
