This is an easy to print wheel that helps you knit as much cord as you like from 7 strands of wool.
How to use it
- Cut 7 equal lengths of wool and tie them together at one end → the final cord will be about 1/3rd shorter than the lengths of wool
- Put the knot through the center hole from the top and pinch each length of wool in one of the v-shaped slits around the wheel → one slit remains empty
- Turn the wheel so that the empty slit is at the bottom and count three lengths of wool counterclockwise from the wheel (so skip two, you are now at the piece between the top and the right piece) → take this piece and put it in the bottom slit
- Repeat step 3 for as long as there is wool left, after about 3-6 turns pull slightly on the knot from the bottom to get an even result
- After knitting all the wool remove the cord from the wheel and tie it off at the end with a knot
How to print it
Prusament PLA with 0.2mm layer height and a 0.4mm nozzle on my PRUSA i3 MK3S+ without supports worked well for me. Print time is just under an hour with 5 meters of filament being used.
