Description
This is a template for easy drilling of Circuitron Tortoise Turnout Motor mounting holes. The Tortoise is a well regarded, slow motion turnout motor that provides reliable operation of model railroad turnouts.
Use: Drill a 1/4” hole centered on the turnout throw bar between the track rails. Secure the template under the layout with tape up to this hole with the 1/4” hole centered above the arrow on the template. There are two 1/4"holes off the centerline that can be used for special clearance applications. Drill the pilot holes for #4 x 1/2" wood or sheet metal screws at the four smaller on the template with a 3/32” or #42 drill bit. The arrow on the template should be parallel to the rails.
