Description
DOOD! Easy-Swap Fan Shroud takes 2 minutes to swap and fixed my issues with cooling on leeward overhangs and details. Happy. Β
Before and after picture of one of many details that were troublesome:
Same settings including fan speed so the difference can be seen.Β
Way better on these overhanging rear-facing details by providing more uniform cooling to the rear of the nozzle as well as the front. Β
After struggling with rear-facing details like overhangs, especially with ASA/ABS, I did some sophisticated laminar flow analysis (down feather on toothpick) to determine that indeed the the rear side of the nozzle was NOT getting equal cooling. Β I decided to see if I could tweak the stock fan shroud and use stock parts to improve the situation in the easiest way possible, rather than swapping the whole works or going with different fans. Β After a few iterations I got it sorted and was super happy with the total change in printing results. All you need to do is replace the stock fan shroud part with this one that has different internal structure to change the outgoing airflow.
Instructions: ( That take two minutes )
