Description

This project is a DIY power supply with a voltage regulator inspired by the flux capacitor from Back to the future movie.

The model of the case is highly optimized for 3D printing on any FFF printer.

Print instructions

I had a (self-made) voltage rectifier and modulator circuit board from a school project and decided to make it into a simple adjustable power supply. Being the geek I am I could not just build a simple box around the board and the flux capacitor from Back to the future seemed like the ideal fit for this project.

What do you need for this project:
Adjustable voltage regulator (https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Build-ADJUSTABLE-VOLTAGE-REGULATOR-Using-LM/)
Transformer (can be salvaged from any old device, mine comes from a table lamp like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/1252698293, keep it including the power plug)
Power switch (usually can be salvaged from the same device)
Voltmeter
Red & Black banana sockets
5x square M3 nut
5x M3 bolt
3x small screw to hold the transformer

You most probably will have different sizes of the components, so they might not fit into this particular model. In that case, you can download the STEP file and adjust any part of the model.

The model of the case is highly optimized for 3D printing with FFF printer. All parts print without supports with only a bare minimum of bridges (the few remaining bridges have been optimized for success). All overhangs are at most at 45 degrees from the Z-axis.
