Description:
I wanted a quality calibration and demonstration thing for my 3D printer. And there are a lot of calibration things on thingiverse. But most of them are quite abstract and this is really booooring. So I designed something more realistic, something that lets me try different slicer settings and then directly see the results. And of course something I know how it should look like when printed.
EDIT:
I added a flat-laying version.
Use your slicer and rotate the compressor wheel by 90° so that it lies plain on your bed.
For an easy print set it to a scale of 75% or even 100% with a layer height of 0.2mm.
If you want a more challenging print, try a scale of 50% and 0.05mm layer height.
These are my settings:
Ultimaker 3D printer (V1 hot end / V2 extruder)
Cooling with two fans
Gold PLA from faberdashery @ 200°C
50% scale
0.8mm wall
0.05mm layer height
10% fill
45 mm/s print speed
(60 min print time / 3g weight)
