Description

GENOESE GALLEY (XVI sec.):

A historically accurate model of a galley, the most important Mediterranean battleship during centuries from XI to XVII sec. This model is flying the Genoese flag, from my own city of birth.

HOW DID I MAKE THIS?

I created the model starting from some original ship plans, so it's as much accurate as possible! I measured every detail and reproduced into this amazing miniature!

HOW TO PRINT IT:

Only the hull and its support are 3D printed since I wanted an easy model everyone can print without any issue. About the other parts:

  • Oars are 44 common toothpicks, cut and shaped a bit
  • Masts are larger toothpicks, the ones you can use for making meat skewers
  • Sails, flags, and bow/stern tents are real linen tissue. You can also use paper.

You will find masts' measures in one of the attached pictures.
