Phoenix Air Mesh Pot

This time around, I have added a phoenix design to the outside of the pot. There is still plenty of mesh to allow air pruning of the roots. Essentially, when the roots reach the outside of the pot and meet open air, they dry up. This tells the plant to create offshoots from those first roots, leading to a stronger and more efficient root system. For more detailed information, look up “root air pruning” or the like. Don't worry, it will hold dirt and soil just fine.

Print Settings

• Nozzle – 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm all work fine
• Layer Height – 0.2mm
• Material – PETG (recommended), PLA, or other
• Infill – 15% Honeycomb
• Perimeters – 3
• Top Fill Pattern – Concentric
• Bottom Fill Pattern – Concentric
• Seam Position – Aligned
• In the “Layers and Perimeters” tab
  • CHECK “Detect thin walls”
  • UNCHECK “Detect bridging perimeters”
• In the “Advanced” tab
  • Set “External Perimeters” to 0.5mm (for a little extra thickness)
• Ironing (for trays only) – 20% at 0.9mm spacing
