Description

WARNING: Due to the Kobra Max hot end mounting screw locations this adapter requires modification of top shoulder the Revo 6 heat sink. The image below shows overlap of the Revo Six model provided by E3D and my adapter.

The mounting screws on Anycubic Cobra Max are too close together for the Revo 6 to mount directly to the bracket without modification but too far apart to drill and tap holes into the Revo 6 heat sink. This adapter pulls the Revo 6 heat sink against the force gauge mounting bracket using the shoulders of two embedded nuts. For the screws to pass the top flange on the Revo 6 heat sink the flange will have to be flattened on two opposing sides so that the adapter will fully close on the neck of the heat sink.

I recommend the following procedure for modification:

  1. Remove all connected parts from the aluminum heat sink
  2. Cover both ends of the heat sink with tape to ensure no particles enter the filament path
  3. Hand file the two flatted sides such that the adapter can fully close around the neck of the heat sink. Note: Only remove enough material to allow the adapter to close. Remove too much material and the nuts will not clamp the hot end against the force sensing bracket.

Required Hardware:

The fan brackets reuse the mounting screws from the original cover.

The hot end mounting screws can be reused.

  • 1x Revo Six
  • 8x M2x5 machine screws (4x for each fan bracket)
  • 2x M3x15 machine screws (Revo 6 adapter)
  • 2x M3 standard size hex nuts (Revo 6 adapter)
  • 1x JST-XHP 2 connector and pins (Revo 6 heater connection)
  • 2x JST-PH 2 connector and pins (Revo 6 fan and thermocouple connection)
    • Crimp tool for JST PH and XHP contacts

Known Issues:

  1. Use of the stock Revo 6 cooling fan/shroud introduces enough vibration into the system to make the automatic bed leveling break while the fan is mounted. Currently I un-clip the fan for bed leveling then re-mount it once levelling is complete. Since the sensor is not used during prints the fan vibration doesn't affect quality.
