Fidget Toy for your MX Switch

A 3D printable Fidget Toy that let's you mount your favorite Cherry MX compatible switch. It consists of three parts: a bottom part, a top part and a switch plate. The model only uses printed parts and uses printed threads for assembly.

Instructions

1. Print the three parts: top, bottom and plate.
   
   IMPORTANT: print the parts in the correct orientation (see image below for reference)
   
   
   
   especially the plate which has indentation for the MX Switch to clip in
   
   
    
2. Once printed, put the plate in the top part and screw the bottom part to the top part.
    

If you want to change your MX Switch, simply open the Fidget Toy and push the Switch out from the bottom or use a Switch Puller.

Note: depending on how well your printer is calibrated and the filament used you may need to screw the bottom and top part a couple times to smoothen the threads with friction. The threads in the model have tolerances included, so it should work fine with most printers.

Inspiration

There seem to be a couple of models out there but none of them are using a proper switch plate. By not using a proper switch plate the MX Switch may not properly clip in. On top of that it seems that switching the MX Switch is a bit more of a hazzle since you can't really use a switch puller on those models. With the design above you can just open the fidget toy up and push the switch out or use a Switch Puller
