1.5ml magnetic separation rack

A magnetic separation rack for four 1.5ml vials, optimized for a pipetting volume of 200µl and greater. See the remixes for a 12x version with faster separation.

This replaces quite well some comically-expensive separation racks that go over 100x the price of this thing.

Requires 4x cylindrical ø10mm by 5mm axially-magnetized neodymium magnets (the stronger the better). One source:

Print 4x “plug”, 2x “half-rack”. No supports required. Optimized for 0.2 layers, 0.4 nozzle. After printing pair the two bodies, then connect by pushing the four plugs on the two sides.

Push firmly the magnets in the recess. Magnet orientation is important: the front-facing side needs to alternate between N-S. Follow this guide:

You can swap N/S sides as long as the alternation is maintained.
