Description
Grinding fixture for resharpening a Husqvarna Lawnmover Saftey Blade, alternative blades and similar blades for other electric lawnmover types.
You can save about 8 Euro = 8 Dollar (at the time of publishing) per resharpening of a set.
The design ensures that the blades can be resharpened symmetrically without reclamping. Simply flip the entire fixture.
The fixture fits on all wet grinders with a 12mm rod like from Torrmek, Scheppach, Güde, Einhell, Holzmann, Weldinger and others.
The used blade fits perfect for electric lawnmovers from:
I'm sure it can be used for other brands and blade designs too.
If you don't use a wet grinder, the temperature on the blade exceeds very fast the temperature limit of the fixture. Using a printed fixture is not recommended in this case.
With a wet grinder, even the use of PLA is no problem. The blade remains everytime cold enough.
Melt the thread inserts as shown in the picture. The M3 thread insert is just to have an abutment for the M4x12 screw.
The slot in the middle quarantees a symmetrical cutting edge angle. Grind carefully the thin blades. Flip several times the fixture on the rod to keep the cutting edge symmetrical and to avoid more material grinding away than necessary.
Adjust roughly the slot width with the front screw (M4x16) and tighten the blade with the back screw (M4x12).
