Harbor Freight Shop Light Mount

Update:  I beefed these up considerably and added a lip that sits above the light to keep it from bouncing around when you pull the cord.  I totally eyeballed the gap, but it should work…if not I'll fix it later.

This is a mounting system for the Braun 4 Ft. hanging shop lights that you can get at Harbor Freight. I don't like hanging these from chains as intended, so I made these so that they become more of a permanent fixture.

Since the cord exits the top of the light, there are two versions of this mount. One version is for when there is room above the light, such as mounting it to an open ceiling or wall. The other is for mounting it against a finished wall or ceiling in that it allows room for the cord.

Supports are not needed.
