Description
This is a collapsing lightsaber inspired by 3DPRINTINGWORLDS design. i wanted to print his but found it used loads of material that i wasnt willing to use, so i designed this smaller model (approx 50cm long) that uses a lot less. i also adapted parts of the design so you can join two hilts together and make it double bladed. this is not anyones lightsaber from the films, this is just a custom hilt i designed myself. i hope you like it, any problems please tell me and i will do my best to make changes. i have tried to be clear about which file is which part in the pictures so i hope you find it easy to understand. Enjoy
The blades may require some post processing, 1 and 2 are suitable to print in vase mode however 3 is not and will need to be printed normally, i am currently working on redesigning it so it can be printed in vase mode. all parts with thread i recommend using .12 layer height and using adaptive layers on the hilt to speed it up if you are on cura
Update: 29/07/2020 : 1 alternate design for each part to add customisability, labelled with a 2 at the end, there is no difference in functionality in these alternate parts, they are simply aesthetically different. I have not printed these parts yet so no pictures are available at the moment. File 'Blade 3' should now be printable in vase mode.

if printing this, you can either do the full thing as .12 layer height, or if you use cura i recommend using a the adaptive layers setting as this greatly reduced my print time. the threaded parts at the top and bottom i recommend .12

I didnt do any infill apart from one of the double bladed joining pieces

Notes:
For the double bladed joining pieces you will need to use supports but you wont need them for anything else
