Description

I was thinking about my life and thought to myself, what is the most bastardized model I could come up with? The answer was easier than you might think!

I found these two models here at Printables:

https://www.printables.com/model/204388-your-color-change-buddy-dual-color-print-filament-

https://www.printables.com/model/211569-temperaturehumidity-indicator-holder-for-prusa-mk3/comments

These are two very simple functional files, and in the best tradition inspired by Voidstar Labs' Zack Friedman, I decided to make something simple into something far more complicated.

I fired up Tinker CAD, imported the STLs, and got to work creating this monstrosity. After several hours of putzing about in TinkerCAD, I set off to print a model that looked much like this one. Turns out I had some serious issues. You see, I am not a CAD designer, but a novice idiot who has figured out just enough in Tinker CAD to be dangerous.

On a side note, do you know of a good resource where I could learn to use this tool a lot more effectively?

Anyway, after reworking the model for a couple more hours (Using Tinker CAD with a trackpad is HARD!), I fixed my several issues and created the monstrosity that is before you.

Printing is not difficult. You need to paint some supports under the very top of the hole, and under the filament color change buddies… what's left of them, anyway. See the pictures or use by pre-built gcode print file.

I used .2mm layer height, but not much is going to make this print look much better. it is strictly-and barely-functional.

Once done printing, remove the supports and slide right on to the top of your printer's frame.

You're done!

I should probably buy a temperature/humidity sensor, since that's what it was supposed to do in the first place…..
