Description
Hello,
This is my contribution to a 3D printable leather wet molding system. I took a lot of the design queues from the readily purchasable www.BuckleGuy.com wet molds, but they didn't offer the sizes and variety I wanted. I'm a better 3D printer than I am a woodworker, so I decided to see if I could 3D print a version that would serve a similar purpose. I also decided to make it parametric and released it so that others could make their own molds if they want. The current mold clearance is .1" or roughly 2.5mm. So this would work best with leathers around the 2-2.5mm range. Smaller might work too, I just haven't gotten around to testing it yet.
I've included pre-modeled versions in 4x4, 6x6, and 4x6 configurations to start with. I'll add more as I go and do more testing. I will leave the print settings to you, but be aware these get large.
Notes:
*This is currently in testing, so I may make revisions and iron out any kinks that come up and I will upload the revisions as well.
**This mold assumes you are already familiar with working leather and what leathers will and won't work with the wet molding process
***These molds are NOT designed to be highly efficient uses of plastic. They're meant to be tools and to be useful.
