Extruder stepper cooler duct for mk3s+. Redesinged to avoid supports and make it easier to insert new filament. Helps to prevent heatcreep which might be a problem when printing flex-materials like TPU.
What you need:
- 40mm fan (e.g. Noctua NF-A4x10 5V)
- 3mm Screws 15mm (2 or 4 pcs)
- 1m AWG24 wire (red and black)
Instructions:
With Prusament PC-Blend Carbon Fiber (witch i've used), ASA, ABS and PLA you could print the part without supports in most cases. With PETG it depends….
- print the part
- solder the two wires to the fan (red + and black -). Isolate the third wire, because there is no input for the rpm-signal on Einsy-board).
- route the two wires to the Einsy-board and solder them to the extruder fan-cables (black to black, red to red)
- remove the original “fs-cover”-part (https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/blob/MK3S/Printed-Parts/STL/fs-cover.stl)
- install the printed part
- install the fan on the printed part (use 2 or 4 3mm screws)
- the new extruder stepper cooling fan should start/stop when the hotend-fan starts/stops
Print instructions
- Use Prusament PC-Carbon-Blend, ASA, PLA, PETG or any of your favorite material
- 0.2mm Layer
- no supports needed
