A little robo-buddy built from an Arduino Nano, Adafruit 8x8 LED Matrix, and 3 cheap SG90.
This project is a checkpoint and concept test for a longer-running project that works off the same ideas. If everything goes to plan, I should be able to show off my work for that one on Thingiverse as well. :)
Materials Used:
-Adafruit 8x8 1.2" LED Matrix
-3x SG90 9g Servo Motors
(and each one's associated screws [2x sides, 1x top] and servo attachments)
-Arduino Nano
-Breadboard/Wires/Etc...
-4x M4*12 Screws & Nuts
-Hatchbox PLA
Assembly Instructions:
- Gather components & print parts.
- Screw base tripod into something reasonably heavy, like plywood (or you could just tape it down as I did).
- Place first servo in base. Screw in side screws.
- Insert servo attachment into the indent of the first arm and screw it in place with the small top screw.
- Mount the second servo on the first arm using a second set of side screws.
- Repeat step 3...
- Repeat step 4 for the third servo.
- Take the last servo attachment and place it into the indent on the 'Eye_Holder_Screw+Servo_Attachment'.
- Line up the LED_Matrix_Eye_Holder with the part mentioned previously and clamp them together using M4 screws and nuts.
- Carefully line up the connected structures to the third servo, drop the third small screw down the center and carefully screw it into the servo's top.
- Slide the LED Matrix in place and then attach the 'Eye_Holder_Clip' to secure it in place.
- Upload the code.
- (Optional) Plead to the gods that it works
Hope this post was of reasonable enough quality to allow someone else to follow this project. Will do my best to be
