Description
This magnetic tips holder for the soldering station Hakko FX-888D was inspired by amcanhazdeath's Hakko Tip Holder.
The Hakko FX-888 was elected as Japan Design Selection 2009 according to Hakko's official website. Here is my attempt to make this soldering station more practical keeping the "spirit" of the original design.
To complete this build you will need 5 disc magnets of diameter 8 mm and height 4 mm. The magnets need to be glued on the back of the holder. There is a clip that is used to lock the tip holder in place. The attached photographs should illustrate the assembly process.
Note: you can generate several iterations of this soldering tips holder using the OpenSCAD script available on its repository.
