Description
The Wallette is a totally rad, 3D printed credit card wallet with an optional label that can be customized to taste.
The Wallette is designed to hold five credit cards of varying sizes, including often-thicker metal credit or debit cards. I wanted to add a little extra flare, so the two spindles/sprockets are printed as separate parts which can be printed in different colors. As a bonus, they spin, adding a little fidget spinner action into the mix!
To keep the Wallette as thin as possible, I forewent using fasteners and opted to rely on glue for construction. I also wanted to make the Wallette 100% printable, not requiring a trip to the hardware store. With that in mind, the face plate holding the spindles can be snapped in without needing glue.
The flexible tabs have been updated where the separations are now vertical instead of lateral. This provides a better printing experience and strengthens the tabs.
Refer to the image and note indicating the areas where glue should not be applied. The top of the wallet has two flex points allowing the cards to slip in and out of the wallette while locking in when fully inserted.
The Wallette was inspired by the cassette card wallet created by junuuki. Although it's not a remix, I likely wouldn't have come up with the idea for the Wallette.
