Magnifying Glass Lens Holder

I was sitting there at my desk one day, minding my own business and being quite productive when along came my co-worker who excitedly announced (or came to the sudden realization) that "Hey, 3E8! You design stuff! I ripped these lenses out of an old Sony projector - make them into magnifying glasses!"... and I turned my head slowly, looking slightly annoyed, and said "OK!"... (typical office drama, amiright?)

24 hrs later, I printed it out and all is right with the world again. The dimensions of the lense are:

85.9mm - diameter

6mm - convex protrusion side 1

4mm - edge thickness

10mm - convex protrusion side 2

I've rendered two sets - one for Hi-resolution printers (that can print with .1mm accuracy or better) and the other for Lo-resolution printers (such as my personal Flashforge that has a resolution of only .3mm)

Print the version that best fits your printer. Then, slide the frame around the lens (making sure it rests between the channels); screw the handle onto the frame and you're good to go!

March 18th, 2018 update: Added a skirted low res version because I found my Flashforge simply couldn't handle the very narrow footprint of the original model.

March 26th, 2018 update: Added a long-handled version (MagGlassHolderSetHiRes2.stl) that has the following dimensions:

94.1mm - diameter

3.4mm - convex protrusion side 1

12.3mm - edge thickness

6mm - convex protrusion side 2

It's for the other set of lenses that come in the same projector that are made of plastic (coupled together to make one dual convex assembly)
