Description
Monitor is good place to mound microphone used for streaming or video recording. As I build mounting platform for my Dell 2421 monitor it was natural to create small adapter as base of mini mic boom.
I used lavalier microphone and about 1 meter of copper wire used for electrical installations. I got 4mm solid wire with black plastic coating. It is easy to bend by hand but also sturdy enough to wear it's own weight including weight of a microphone.
Mic boom made this way allows easy positioning microphone as close to the face but out of camera sight.
Part has two holes, one for 3mm screw to attach it to the monitor platform base, and other used to stick copper wire in.
Wire stays firm, can be rotated but does not fallout.
Lavalier mic has clip so it is simple clipped on other end of wire. Mic cable is loosely coiled around wire to keep it from sagging.
I used 1U mount platform https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5442102 to attach everything to the monitor.
