Winch Controller Bracket

This is a bracket for relocating the winch control jack on a Jeep Wrangler YJ. It may fit CJs and TJs as well if the grill spacing is the same.

Weatherproofing

I recommend spraying with enamel paint or at least a clear coat to protect from UV degradation.

Installation

Drill a hole for a 5/16" bolt 4" across from the passenger side radiator bolt, and 3/4" forward from the back of the grill frame.

Install a 5/16" jam nut into the back of the bracket. The nut bore is purposely undersized, so you will need to heat up the nut with a soldering iron or lighter and let it melt into place.

Install the bracket into the jeep grill, making sure the hole in the bracket lines up with the hole you drilled. The bracket is designed with a snug fit, and should stay in place on its own until the bolt is installed.
