Description
This is another version of my lamp creations, as there are the already published „box shape“ lamp https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/20852-bedside-lamp-box-led-12v-25w and the „tube shape“ lamp https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/23965-bedside-lamp-tube-led-12v-25w. Now this lamp is bigger (approx. H44xL15xW15cm) and has become a sort of disc head (Ø 140mm) and the backside a switch and a dimmer. Now - with the 5V USB LEDs - I can say that the dimming works very good.
In my opinion, the biggest difficulties in this project are the sawing of the tinplate base and the polycarbonate glass (I did both with a fretsaw - saw blade no. 5) as well as the soldering of the cut LED strips. The cutting plan you find here: last picture.
The cut polycarbonate glass must be pressed into the front ring from the front (!) at a slight angle. I fixed the glass at the outer edge with some small drops of all-purpose glue.
I have tried to capture some of the working steps and the assembly in photos. The assembly in many parts is identical with "Bedside Lamp (Box)" and „Bedside Lamp (Tube). A look at the photo gallery there might help additionally. If you got any questions, feel free to contact me.

After completion of the assembly I recommend - to improve the slip resistance - to attach small self-adhesive rubber pads to the bottom of the lamp feet (4x rubber pads Ø 8x1,6mm).
