A dead simple filament color swatch that fits a 24 × 35 mm label to document and organize your filament samples.
My goal here was to create a really quick to print and easy to use way of documenting the different types of filament I bought over the years. I have been using some calibration cube to do so up to now but they had limited space to write informations on and took more than an hour to print.
I wanted to make something that could be printed quickly (in less than 30 minutes) while still being able to hold enough information, thus why this was designed to have a recess with enough space for a 24 × 35 mm label (which can be bought for really cheap, AVERY does sell them for 0.85€ for 56). It also feature a small opening to attach a keyring to it to use your filament swatches as keychains.
The model also has multiple variations that includes the type of filament shown at the top for the most popular types I have found. If the type of filament you need is not available, do not hesitate to ask for it in the comment or create it yourself from the included Fusion 360 source file. The source file is also parametric, allowing you to update the model to accommodate any size of label you want to use.
The final model takes 20 minutes to print, uses 1.5m of filament and measures 40 × 38 × 3 mm.
The model should be printed with the flat side on the build-plate with 0.2 mm layer height and 20% infill.
