Description
I needed a tiny “selfie-cam” for a RC plane project with the goal of being able to get a full 360° view of the plane while in flight. However, I had a hard time finding micro-sized servos with a 360° (non-continuous) range. In addition, most models already out there are for pan + tilt, and I didn't need to tilt the camera.
This model has been tested with a MG90S servo and a Caddx Baby Ratel 2 camera, but it should be easily modified for other micro servos and nano cameras.
Assembly requires a M3 bolt, a M3 nut, 2 M3 washers, and a M3 lock nut. Insert the bolt in the harness, secure it with the captive nut. Insert a washer, then the camera mount, then another washer. Secure with a lock nut, tightened enough that the gears spin freely.
Note: Most servos have a 90° range of rotation, which will give you 180° range with these gears. If you want a full 360°, either modify your servo or find one with a 180° range.
The OpenSCAD source for these models is located in my github repository.
