GoPro Fan Mount

This fan mounts using GoPro mounting system behind your camera, to keep it cool. This can be useful for recording long time lapses, inside cars, inside airplanes, and other hot places with little air movement (and especially when the camera is recording and plugged in.)

I designed this to use parts I had laying around, so feel free to use the cad files to adjust to your specific parts.

Note on the Dual Mount version: This was created by request of u/The_Chosen_One914 to mount on the chest mount. This version has a second mounting point behind the fan, so that it can be mounted on a chest/head/any other mount that mounts to the camera from the back. Below is an image of the dual mount version.

Parts Used:

• 80x80x15mm 5v computer fan
• Female Micro USB connector
• 4 screws and nuts to hold the fan (I used some random screws I had lying around that were 3mm in diameter and 25mm long.)
• Glue
• GoPro mounting screw and nut

Parts to print for the normal version (Shown in photographs):

• 1x Mount arm (left or right is which side the screw goes on, left is shown in the photographs)
• 1x Base (15mm for a 15mm deep fan, and 25mm for a 25mm deep fan. The 25mm does not have mounting holes for a connector, just a large hole for a cable)
• 1x Front Grill
• 1x Rear Grill

Parts to print for the Dual Mount version (shown in the above screenshot):

• 1x Dual arm mount (left or right is which side the screw goes on, and the 15mm or 25mm is for the fan depth)
• 1x Base 15mm or dual mount base 25mm
• 2x Front fan grill (Yes, both are front ones, they have a cut out for the arm!)

Assembly (normal version shown):

1. Glue the parts together
2. Prepare fan and connector
3. Mount fan and connector
4. Slot in GoPro nut and screw for mounting the camera

Note: The black square between the blue fan grills is representing the fan in the images. It is not to be printed.

UPDATE (18/8/2022):

I added a thicker “base” (base_25mm_fan_and_cable_hole) piece to accommodate a 80x80x25mm fan. The thicker base has a larger hole as to route a cable out of it instead of mounting a connector.

UPDATE (21/8/2022):

One version of the mount for both fan types. There is now a mount arm with the screw on the right. The recommended one is the one on the left, but if you have the media mod for example, the screw on the right might be better.

Fixed a measurement error with the rear mount on the dual mount version for 25mm fan.

• 0.15mm Layer Height for base and mount
• 0.20mm Layer Height for grills
• Supports everywhere
• PLA for fan grills and electronics box, PETG for the mount
