Description
Well. Weekend is one day away and you haven't time to order one of the shiny metal trunk door standoffs to help keep your van from becoming a sauna. So print one.
For stability reasons (and support structure hate) the hook gets printed flat. Heat the narrow end with a heat gun or a hair dryer. Use an oven mitten to gently press the hook into the mould. Let it cool and test it. If it doesn't fit properly, heat it again and modify.
Initially meant as a test to make a metal one, it proved surprisingly strong and is still in use. Still, for security reasons a metal hook would be better. And don't drive around with it. Trunks are usually closed for a reason.
Works for:
Possibly other cars as well.
I used toughPLA. ASA and PETG should work fine. PLA might be too brittle.
90% infill or more, 5+ walls.
