Summary:
3D scan of the world’s smallest penguin, little blue penguin, property of the Auckland Museum Collection. Edited to be printed on a single extruder printer in different colored parts.

Printing instructions:
Use the provided gcode files, or slice the parts yourself. Print the model at 0.15 layer height and use lightning infill. Be sure to print the black part with the support enforcers. The angle of the wings is too shallow for the default slicer settings to recognize it as a support area, but it is.

Assembly instructions:
Make sure the edges of the belly and back parts are support free. Check the inside pocket for obstructions. If you see any, remove them.
Insert the belly part into the slot on the left cheek first, number 1 in the attached pictures.
When this part is properly seated, you can gently work your way to the other cheek. Number 2 in the attached pictures.

Then work your way down and close the gap.
It is not possible to neatly close the model in any other order.
After closing the model, you can attach the beak with a bit of glue. The legs can easily be inserted into the slots at the bottom. The eyes are created by inserting a piece of filament into the holes and cutting them flush.

Does your penguin need a hat?
I have also made a hat for the penguin.

Note:
If you print the parts too hot, they might deform, as they are quite thin. If this happens, you will end up with a bigger gap between the white and black parts. You might need to use a heat gun/hairdryer to gently close the gap.
