Ghostbusters Leg Hose Connector

This is not supposed to be movie accurate, rather my interpretation of a practical leg hose connector. I didn't like seeing the stitching, so have hidden it under the body, giving it a neater look to the bystander, even if this is less "authentic" to those trying for movie copy.

Features

  • Safe friction fit hose, if hose is snagged it will break free from connector
  • Inner hose support, a internal support is provided for the exiting tube to help prevent it collapsing under its own weight and kinking, making it look better
  • Two part screw together design allows stiches to be hidden
  • Recessed thread channels allows thread to flow from one hole to another securely and avoid thread tearing when screwing on
  • 3D printer tolerance applied to threads allow the model to be 3D printed and screw together tightly
  • Body length is on the shorter side of the designs I've seen, to stop it protruding too much, thus reducing leverage so it hangs better, pulling the material less.
  • Plenty of stitching holes placed near the edge of the circle, to make a neat interface with the material, less gap between the body and fabric
  • Unscrew for washing, reducing risk of damage to costume or connector during laundry as you don't have a big clunky piece of plastic to snag.

Printing

Requires supports everywhere when printing.

I used support roof and floor, 0.3mm z support distance, 10% support density and zig zag infill for easy separation in threads of support material.

25% infill with 3 outer layers. Use part cooling fan.

After printing carefully remove all the support from the threads and clean any rough spots. Should easily screw together.

Note

Due to the nature of the costume, there is always a risk of snagging, trip or falls. Please risk assess your costume and I cannot accept any responsibility for this part in use.
