Description
Use:
The lids should flex slightly under pressure to remove it from the case or insert it, it "snap fits", put one side in first then the flexi and clip the other side in.
The ribbon cable lid has "gull wings" that need to be bent along the V seam, up by 45 degrees, after printing. This provides access for ribbon cables or smaller jumper wires, whilst keeping the holes minimal so avoid debris from falling into the case. The one photographed is PLA. Use a hair dryer or heat gun along the hinge seam to soften it if it is a problem to fold.
If using metal screws/bolts with base mount, please place insulation tape over screw heads for peace of mind. Although the holes are countersunk, its best to be careful.
05 April 2021 - Added V1 with vented lid and IO port access
12 April 2021 - Made lug larger on lids for firmer fit
13 April 2021 - Created Versions with Side, Internal (base) and end mounts
I recommend printing with a good level of infill40%+ to allow good strength with the sides.
Also recommend part cooling fan to print good quality posts and sharp detail.
Designed to not require supports, print all parts flat on the bed.
Use different filament for lid and box for visual impact.
Tweaks to design will be considered, please comment.
