Description
This design should improve extruder cooling by a few degrees, my goal was to make airflow better so I could decrease the extruder fan RPM to make it quieter.
I don't have any accurate way of measuring airflow, so instead I inserted a thermocouple sensor inside the extruder tube and measured the temperature right before the heater block, which should be the hottest point in the neck of the heat-break. Then I set my nozzle temperature to 250ºC which is 15ºC above what I usually print. Then set a stopwatch to 10 minutes so it had time for the temps to settle. And I then I tried a few designs and compared the differences.
