Hobbywing EzRun Max 5 ESC Mount for Traxxas XMaxx

Why?

I didn't like the usual adapters that mount the ESC to the floor of the central chassis, because you always have to angle it upwards. In hard crashes it wobbled around. Additionally I needed the space in the central chassis pit to mount some 5V LED power units sitting safe and secure down there. The higher mount of the HW5 didn't affect the center of gravity at all, since the XMaxx is way to heavy to care about those few grams sittin' higher :-)

Features:

• When printed in TPU, it snuggly embraces your HW5, absorbing a lot of the impacts caused by your poor driving skills.. ;-)

Requirements:

• Recommended to be printed in stiff 98A TPU. Will be printable in ABS and ASA / PA6/12, but since those materials absorb almost nothing, they will break. I never lost an adapter made out of TPU.
• HW5 ESC is screwed into the bottom plate using 4 M3x6 countersunk screws (you sometimes have to re-cut the thread because Hobbywing obviously paints the screw holes after having them cut…)
• Print 2 oft the adapters and glue them to the bottom of the main mount in a way that the holes for the cable ties align properly
• Hereby you can mount the whole package to the XMaxx center “rails” using 4 (stable) cable ties (see photographs)
