Beta Testing Notice

This model is currently in beta testing. 

I printed the manifold in Prusament Jet Black PLA. It had some stringing across the tube holes that required some cleanup with an X-Acto knife. I printed the Modified transport handle in Prusament Prusa orange PLA. The slots for the square nuts are a little bit tight, but they were the same as the original so I assume it isn't prudent for me to enlarge them. 

I have not been able to test this end to end because I am still waiting on the magnets to arrive. 

I am releasing this model for beta before I complete testing because these parts are remixes of extensively tested parts and I have tested all of the modified portions.

NOTE: Check your spare parts box, you should have this hardware left over from putting the enclosure together.

  • 5 pc. Ring magnet 10mm OD x 4mm ID x 5mm thickness

NOTE: The linked company does not ship outside of Europe and I could not find a US source that produces this size. Anyone outside of Europe has a couple of options: 

  1. Use a reshipper who will receive your package and ship it to you. 
  2. Order the magnets custom. I have provided the specification file in PDF format in “other files” below you can upload the provided document at the bottom of THIS page.
  • 5 pc. 4mm OD 2mm ID PTFE tubing ( This is the best deal I could find please comment if you find a better source)

Magnetic Connection Standardization

For the sake of my own sanity, and yours should you choose to adopt this standard.  I propose the following standards:

  • All connections where the connector is attached to a fixed object (enclosures, dry boxes, etc.) that the magnets all present the NORTH pole for attachment. 
  • All non-fixed connectors present the SOUTH pole for attachment.
  • All PTFE tubes have a magnetic connection at both ends whenever possible.

You can easily determine the polarity of a magnet using a Polarity Detector. Once polarity is determined it can be helpful to use the Polarity Helper to keep track of the polarity while you are working.
