Description

A lightweight, unobtrusive, and simplistic drive drive mount for any stepper using the Winsinn Dual Gear Extruder.

Confirmed to be non-obstructive with duct designs such as Hero Me, Petsfang, and Hydra. I personally use this mount with a 34mm Nema 17. I've tested this to be the smallest motor size to have enough torque for the dual gear extruder. However, any Nema 17 motor between 23mm to 48mm will fit.

Although I have found the clip-on version to be extremely stable, a bolt-on version is also included for the paranoid among you.

Print Instructions

Printed with supports and brim in the STL's original orientation. It is recommended to use tree supports in order to save plastic. Add support blockers to the left and right ventilation holes, as well as the front Nema screw mounts. Be mindful not to put the support blocker on the top most overhang or the central giant hole. See image for more details.

It isnot recommended to print in PLA, the heat generated from the stepper will cause warping over time.PETG, ABS, or PC are recommended since they have high heat resistance and provide a slight amount of flex to prevent the clips from breaking on insertion.

Since these designs are press fit, they require high dimensional accuracy. Prior to printing, it ishighly recommended to calibrate your printer in this order:

  1. Extruder e-steps
  2. X/Y/Z Axis e-steps
  3. Cura's horizontal expansion value

Note: "Flow" calibration is not needed. In fact, over extrusion would result in a slightly stronger part.
