Description

These frets are 15mm tall and are replacements for the stock frets with the standard membrane pads.

So far this fret design should be compatible with the following guitars:

  • PS2 Kramer
  • Wii Les Paul
  • Wii GH5
  • PS3 Les Paul
  • PS3 World Tour
  • Xbox 360 World Tour

This is not a full exhaustive list this is just the guitars i have on-hand to test with at the current moment. So give it a shot and report back and i can add it to the list!

This also includes custom TPU fret bumpers to reduce noise on the frets similar to how the stock buttons work. The bumpers are wider than standard Wii fret bumpers but they do work as well. Other guitar bumpers will not work as they have slightly different dimensions.

I originally started with Wii frets when designing this, and tweaked them to work on a wide variety of guitars. So as a result of this on some guitars the frets may be slightly smaller than the stock buttons, but I've made changes to ensure that the buttons fit securely in all guitars without too much wobble this was done by making the horizontal stoppers wider than a stock Wii button which are ~2mm wide where as this button is 2.5mm wide ensuring that the frets stay stable on all guitars tested.

I've been printing my buttons at 0.08mm layer height to make sure the top curves are as smooth as possible, as well as having ironing enabled to ensure a smoother top surface.

Edit:

I've also added a redesigned version that can be printed vertical which has a greater curve to the top of the frets, this version will have smoother fret to fret sliding as well as smoother operation when pressing/releasing the frets due to the layer lines aligning with the direction of travel. The downside is that it requires support material to print and generally prints slower.
