Description

These covers protect the blade tips from (some) damage, and of course also your skin from the razor sharp blades!

Designed for two brands of hunting bolts for the EK Archery Cobra System RX Adder crossbow:

  • Steambow
  • Nik Archery (listed as “Elong Outdoor” on Amazon)

The stacked versions are supposed to be used when you have multiple of these hunting bolts in a speedloader/quick loader (e.g. the ones made for the bolt magazine designed by Jörg Sprave)

They also do a pretty good job at holding the bolts together even without the speedloader, so you can (ab)use them to store/transport them without bulky packaging.

Printing instructions

Use a flexible rubber filament, obviously. The generic filament preset in PrusaSlicer works fairly well but you can get better results if you tweak the nozzle temperature and flow rate a bit. Always depends on the particular brand of TPU you use…

I've successfully printed them using my i3 MK3S with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.4mm layer height. Did use a brim, but bed adhesion is so strong with TPU that you probably could also do without.

Despite Prusa's claims, the Mini with its Bowden filament feeding system is unfit for printing with TPU. You do need a printer with a direct drive filament feeding system, and even with those it's not remotely as idiot proof as printing PLA or PETG.

Note: These covers have a very tight fit. If you want them a little looser, upscale the model by a few percent within the slicer.
