Magnetic Threaded Connectors (Tripod Mount)

These are neodymium magnetic connectors which I created to attach things using a simple tripod mount. There's two versions of the magnet holder.. the octagonal one will lock the connector in place so it won't turn.

The magnets I ordered say they are 1.26" in diameter, but in reality they are more like 1.1". They cost about $10 and these are the ones I ordered, but you can get them from anyone:

It uses a 10-32 nut and bolt from home depot to secure the clamp and also a 1.5" diameter washer to act as a metal base. You also need a 1/4" - 20 threaded nut and bolt for the camera mount which you can easily find also at Home Depot.

The inserts are threaded to be able to push the magnets and metal base to stay firmly in place.

Edit.. I added a version with smaller cheaper magnets too.
