Description
I have always found focusing with my Yashica Electro35 rather cumbersome and the mechanism to be kind of sluggish. While this may be attributed to my camera needing some CLA, i could not understand why the original focustabs screwed into the lens were so flat and basically useless.
After unscrewing the original tabs i thought designing a replacement like the ones often seen on leicas shouldn't be too hard.
To replace the original tab, just unscrew it with a JIS000 screwdriver (PH000 should work, too, however you may damage the screwhead because of the angled sides) and screw on the printed one, making sure to align it so it is centered on the focus ring.
I also tried another teardrop-like shape and made a quick and dirty design. After trying both versions, I liked the first version better, so I didn't bother putting more work into the second version. Feel free to do so though, as I've uploaded both .f3d files for you to tweak and customize.
Feel free to critique my (in this case, admittedly very sloppy) design process, as I am by no means a professional and would love to improve further.
Printed in 0.12mm because of the small nipples that hold the tab in place and the accuracy of the screwhole. No supports needed, some quick craft knife action is all it takes to get rid of the little bit of drooping filament to make the nipples fit the small holes.
