Pipe End Suction Strainer

This will fit a 3/8 inch plastic water line. The same type used for refrigerators and dishwashers. The inner diameter is 0.371 inch, this allows for a snug fit and no glue is required. You could always scale the part from the base dimension in order to accommodate any desired pipe size.

I needed a small strainer for the pipe I use to drain the dirty water from my aquarium. I had a very small fish die after getting struck to the end of the pipe while I was partially draining water out of the tank. So I decided to attach a small strainer in order to prevent any further injuries. This did the job great.
