LED Softbox Light With Grid

Print your own soft box light with diffusion grid. 
This is a parametric model – check the other versions available.

A 0.3-0.5 mm aluminium sheet is inserted into the clip-on frame. It acts as a heat sink for the LEDs taped onto it. Choose some good quality LED strips with a high color rendering index  for photography and video (CRI>90). Switch and plug can be drilled in the frame. See pictures and parts list.

Print the diffusor with transparent PETG. Check that the light transmission is ok and opt for neutral coloured filament. You can also insert a thin sheet of acrylic glass if you prefer.

The frame can be assembled without any tools. Round magnets can be added to fix the soft box light to a metallic wall or ceiling (ceiling works better).

The grid or honeycomb can be added to the frame with four separate clips.
